Oh, how I love the completeness of the bible. It is indeed a glorious thing to find strength in the fullness of its pages.

Here, check out this verse. -1 Corinthians 10:13

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Lately, I’ve been feeling some type of way and I kept wondering to myself that what was wrong with me? I was always too tired to hold my prayers the way I usually did, I was so weak I kept sleeping off. at some point I had to mentally ask, am I backsliding or what? its too early for that I though.

But through all this, I felt the Holyspirit was close to me, and I wondered at the faithfulness of our God, even when we are faithless. The Holyspirit encouraged me to go see a doctor, and after much persuasion, I did finally.

After my chat with the doctor, I realized that I wasn’t backsliding or anything, I was simply a bit ill and the illness had been progressing for a while and it had got to a point where  my body couldn’t ignore it anymore, hence the constant sleeping, weakness and tiredness.

Now, I’ve been given some medication to help with regulating my health but, I’ve seen people who have had to live with this illness for years but I am so glad for 1st Corinthians 10:13 because not only does it give me hope, it renews my faith in God and I can boldly say that I expect a miraculous healing soon, not because I deserve it, but because I’ve got a God who’s specialty is the IMPOSSIBLE.

So i’m assured that soon, I’ll testify.

What are you Tuned to?

A wonderful friend of mine sent me this picture today, she suggested that it was something I could use on my blog and it definitely is.

To be honest, I believe this picture says it all. we sometimes get so caught up in our lives, gadgets, problems, pleasures that we totally alienate the voice of our Shepherd.

Maybe its time we all stopped to listen.

A Little Encouragement

This post is dedicated to everyone who is in need of hope. I simply want to remind you that God’s got you.

Never forget his promises, never doubt his love for you and the unending grace that he has poured to keep us.

Always remember he’s got a plan for you, to give you hope and a future a good future, and what’s more? He won’t let you go through what his grace can’t keep you through.

As we stay positive in this era of “change” it’s understandable that your humanity begins to have a peek and tries to bring you down.

Here’s a word for you, the God that personally fed Elijah in the wilderness during the famine is still on the throne.

So cheer up, look to God and keep praising!

Mandate Given, Purpose Driven

Each one of us, has been given a special mandate / pattern for our lives perfected in God.

As we can see in Jeremiah 29 vs 11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Before I carry on see Jeremiah 1 vs 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Also see Ephesians 1 vs 4 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love”
What do these verses tell?

  • That God had knowledge of us even before the earth’s foundation
  • That God being the creator called each one of us to a purpose for his kingdom
  • That he took his time making us because he had a future for us, a glorious future if only we inquire.

This is where my point lies, how many people know their God ordained purpose? How many have taken the time to ask, “Oh Lord, why was I created? What problems am I meant to solve?”

Today we have so many people who are walking blindly in their destinies, maybe by chance they are able to do something that is near what God wants of them but because they don’t fully know, they are thrown back into the rat race of life.

Your purpose will give you Joy, Your purpose is done almost effortlessly, there may be 10 billion people walking in your purpose but once you begin to operate just where God ordered for you, since the beginning of creation, these other people will stand no chance against the future that you will make in your purpose.

Today there are blind pastors who lead blind congregations, don’t be one of them. When the veil was torn at the death of Jesus we were given free access into the knowledge and presence of Heaven, and last I checked, that veil never got sewn back.

You are simply a prayer away from a Rightful purpose driven life. What are you waiting for?

Just Poems

I just felt like this in my heart, I hope someone can relate to these poems

God is great

I’m thinking God is great

I’m feeling God is great,

I’m knowing God is great

Surely God is great.

There must be other things to talk about you say

Other than the greatness of God

Other songs to sing about you say again

The angels in heaven have sang the same song

In generations past and to come.

Surely Gods greatness is big enough to span a lifetime.

Simply thinking on it make me smile

Just 1 thought generates a multitude of emotions

I’m thinking God is great,

I can see that God is great.

On to the Next

PhotoGrid_1445518208014 (1)

My God my great help.

My Alpha my Almighty,

Calling your name gives me peace,

Calling your name tastes like sweets,

Not just one flavour,

But a barrage of flavours all mixed in one.

It’s astonishing to say the least

How I have come to this point,

A point where I hunger for you,

And I feel that hunger in my spirit,

I never actually understood David’s psalm,

Of the deer that thirsts for water,

Now I do.

I thirst for you

I thirst for your living water,

I thirst for your living power,

I thirst for your mighty strength.

I thirst to the point oh hunger

And even as you fill me with your words

I know there’s space for more.

More of you, More of you

Jesus, More of you.

We share the Grace

The grace of our lord Jesus Christ,

The Love of God, and

The fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Be with you all.

2nd Corinthians 13 vs 14

Firstly before we take an in depth look at these few short words, I would just like to say, the apostle Paul indeed was a man clothed with an endless flow of wisdom from the spirit of God, because in 3 sentences, he describes all any human will require to enter heaven.

  • THE GRACE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST: as Christians  today we acknowledge that we live in the era of grace, grace bought with the blood of God the son, because no earthly sacrifice could have done diddly squat to cleanse the sins past, present (then) and future (now).

So he recognizes that through Jesus, we are welcomed into grace which is paved by the way of our salvation.

Without Jesus, there would have been no salvation meaning we would not be able to come boldly before the throne of grace that we have been given an invitation to now (see Hebrews 4 vs 16)

  • THE LOVE OF GOD: now the love of God is very paramount to our Christian walk, why? Because without the love of God there would not have been room for the death of his one and only begotten son.His love for the human race is rather vast that he took the pain to be separated from his son for a full 3 hours while he hung on the cross for our sins.In his love he has kept us, protected us, guided us, given us hope, given us health, wealth, joy, love, peace and grace. His love for us guarantees us a new day’s mercy and blessing.

  • THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLYSPIRIT : to be a true believer, you need to be able to connect with God and the only way to do that is through the Holyspirit.

When Jesus was about leaving, he said “I will ask the Father to give you another Helper, to be with you always.”

This Holy spirit, is our guide into a full on relationship with God, a fellowship with the Holy spirit is first of all the embodiment of sweetness, and is the key you need to gain the seven spirits of God. A sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit is all you need to get even closer to the father and the son. A sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit is all you need to connect to the heavenly realms and operate in remarkable supernatural heights.

The Holyspirit is our personal Super-Hero

3 things Paul wrote to the Corinthians that is of great import to their walk as believers

  • The Grace of our lord Jesus Christ
  • The Love of God
  • The sweet fellowship of the Holyspirt.

Lets not make these words powerless with our non-derstanding of its power.

Psalm 16

Here’s a break down I was privileged to know.

Vs 1 Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.

-you can only take refuge in a place you trust, the president of the United States of America will easily follow his aides to the safe bunker if anything breaks out at the surface because he knows the place is bomb-proof (example). So also, you seeking refuge with the Holy one should mean you understand that in him is your safety and you cannot be harmed nor touched.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”

-this is coming into realization of the truth, almost like the scales are now fallen off and you finally see and understand the initial instruction to follow his commands.

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.

  • This is simple rededication to the one who you know can save you (you have declared a side)

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.

  • Now after all this, what is in store for you? I:e the portion to which you have been assigned

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.

  • What is in store for you is a pleasantly placed boundary line, meaning wherever the boundary line has been placed, that just before are the pleasant things (the good of the land) which in turn causes you to have the delightful inheritance, not good, not nice, not just fine or great but delightful (bubbling from the inside) this means a bubbling from the earth upwards kind of inheritance.

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.

  • When you become a partaker of the above blessing, surely you will praise, now even in your praise, you will receive counsel and guidance, as you remain in that praise you will receive counsel that will follow you into your sleepzone (deadzone) so when you sleep, you are not fully dead to the world and its happenings. Instead you have insider information into what is happening and possibly will happen.

I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

  • Declarations that may only have come with wisdom gotten from the instructions deposited into your heart by counsel. Setting the lord before you to lead and beside you to guide.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,

  • Your heart can only be glad when it has received something to make it glad, from the hearts gladness the mouth is instructed to rejoice, giving rest to the whole body. (All izz well)

10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful[b] one see decay

  • Surely a being whom has been awarded all from 1-9 will not leave without a legacy (he will not see decay) in the sense that his spirit will not be confined to some pit but will ascend joyfully.
    11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
  • You have made known to me the path of life, meaning I walked in your ways as you stated, during my days on the earth, so I am sure that I am one of the saints who will sit at your feet, crowned by the lamb and bask in your glory at the throne of grace. Furthermore, I recognise that these things are eternal pleasures and so once more I rejoice.

david love

I once heard a song that said “ everybody wants to love, everybody wants to be loved ”

These lyrics, although circular have some truth ringing in them. Everybody does want love, as humans we have an inate desire to be loved by those around us; our families, our friends, our peers and for some of us, by Jesus, the Holy spirit and God the father.

However my question to you today is this…are you “Loveble”??

You want someone to love you without holds and without barriers but how lovable are you as a person? How lovable is your personality? Are you simply a dull cloud that dampens spirits? Are you a bitter soul? Are you an angry beaver? Always finding something to get upset about. Are you a pessimistic person who will always view the world from a disappointing point of view.

Are you a negative person who has just negativity to spread, are you the selfish person who only cares what they can get from others without a care for them, are you the gossiper? Are you the nasty one? Are you the unrepentant who finds it hard to apologize for your wrongdoings? Are you the emotionally and spiritually bankrupt? Are you the ambitionless one?

I believe it has come to the time where we each evaluate ourselves and tabulate our strengths and weaknesses and as we boost our strengths, we work tirelessly to change our weaknesses to strengths or cut them off completely.

In as much as the greatest of all instructions given to us is LOVE, we owe it to ourselves to not make our neighbours sin through our unlovable behaviour(s)

So today ask yourself, for as much as I want someone or people to love me, am I helping them love me?

That David Love

                                                                     2013-04-29 17.41.14
Love, I thought I knew love, in fact I would usually classify myself as a romantic/ loverholic. I have never felt that emotion towards a significant other, but I have a lot of love for my family and friends so I assumed I knew about it.
Till I started reading my bible.
I read about the love and friendship shared between God and David and I know, that nothing, nothing, in fact I repeat it, NOTHING can come close to that kind of love.
Oh how God would fill David with his presence and his spirit that he was fully inspired and Level 5000 charged to write 150 chapters of psalms.  I’ll break it down One- Hundred and fifty chapters with chapter 119 spanning into 176 verses. (#wow #gimmiethat)
In between all of his warring, David, a true friend of God always respected, revered and inquired of the lord, he saw and understood to a large extent the unlimited power of the God he served which is why when his camp was raided and his wives taken, he “encouraged himself in the Lord”
He then went on to Inquire, “shall I pursue” think about this, he was absolutely devastated and his men were ready to kill him there and then! And nobody would ask a thing, I mean Saul was certainly not on his side, but amidst all the chaos going on, he asked his friend, his superior friend “shall I go?”
Logically it would have made sense for him to go after the Amalekites that had his family and possessions.
But God being faithful to his “friend” replied, “you may go, you will overtake, and you will surely recover” that was a conversation between friends, 1 being absolutely devastated and the other being the ultimate cheerleader.
Today we have that song by Israel Houghton “friend of God” and it is such a hit everywhere, everybody goes ballistic as they shout “I am a friend of God woooh oooh” but are you truly a friend? What kind of a friend are you? Hopefully not a leach that only remembers your friend when you are in need?
How much time do you spend time with your friend? How many times have you just felt the goodness of your friend and simply thanked without a request, have you any idea, the kind of friend you have? Do you know what he likes? How then can you sing I am a friend of God?
Oh, that I would have that sort of friendship myself that David enjoyed.
After David (the man after God’s heart) passed, because of the love God had for his servant, he extended his friendship to Solomon.
Now Solomon having learned well from his father I want to assume was able to bring God close to him to the point that God came down in all his glory and magnificence to attend to him TWICE!!!!.
Yes we all know from Sunday school that Solomon was the wisest king, but I never really looked to see about the other blessings God “scattered” him with. I read in my bible that during Solomon’s reign, silver was a cheap commodity because gold was in abundance and nowhere in his absolutely positively ravishingly distinguished palace did he use silver for anything, oh and the temple he built to God? Absolute oh la la.
Pure gold, the altar room Solomon had built, the cherub statues about 7ft of  pure gold, the basins, pure gold! May I just say that even the Olympic gold medal is majorly made of silver and then a lesser percent of gold (I’m guessing the percentage of gold used is to give it color)
His whole kingdom! Never experienced lack! Hunger or strife! People will literally come to his abode, simply to sit in his presence and hear God’s wisdom through him. God gave him peace during his time. Not 1 country came to war with him, NOT ONE.
Its recorded in the bible that queen Sheba brought such an array of spices from her country (Ethiopia) that nowhere again has there been a gifting of spices of that magnitude.
Think about it, Proverbs, Songs of Solomon and Ecclesiastes, all he wrote. Till his love for women, overtook his love and friendship with God.
Now reading through first and second kings, after Solomon’s foolishness, God divided the kingdom between Jeroboam and Rehoboam, with Rehoboam Solomon’s son having Judah  and the city of David and Jeroboam having the rest as Israel, the bible recorded that these two men were NOTHING like God’s servant David who served the lord all of his life(apart from that one time he went all lusty gangster with Bathsheba) now between Israel and Judah, they had the rubbishest of kings, (English has permitted me) who sinned and forgot God, a literal succession of various weak minded, poor hearted, evil, enemies of God and at some point I would read that these men were not like God’s servant David, or after reading about the nonsense these new kings allowed and did, the bible will state that because of the promise God made to his servant David, that he would always have someone from his line on the throne, God did not completely destroy Judah.
So from David’s death at the end of 2nd Samuel to 2 kings’ chapter 18,there wasn’t a king that God fully supported like he did David and till Hezekiah . Asa and Joash tried, but they didn’t achieve the full friendship that David was privileged to enjoy.
Wow, what love that God had for this 1 man, and I ask myself wasn’t he human? I mean people say “we are all human…nobody is perfect” but I believe that David perfected the art of his friendship with God! He may have sinned that 1 time, but even that sin wasn’t big enough to come between the Love God had for him which is why I want to believe God punished him almost instantly for his sin so they could continue to be the best of friends they were.
What have I basically been talking about?
1)      Love is God not wiping out a whole generation for you.
2)      Love is God showing you unlimited, uncommon, unmerited favour just because he can.
3)      Love is God saying “ such and such is a person after my own heart”
4)      Love is God keeping his promises and personally selecting your lineage to send his son through.
I know God’s love for me is unending, unchanging, immeasurable and overwhelming but I want that David kinda loving from this same God, that David kinda friendship with this same God. That is one relationship I am willing to invest in.
What about you?

Jesus’ Love pt 3

Okanlawon: Birthday Man

Welcome to another study of Jesus Love, I apologize for posting on Friday as opposed to the usual Thursday, clearly I have more work to do on my discipline.

So, lets just dive right in shall we?

Love always protects – here we examine the story of the demon possessed man in mark 1-20, the man lived in the burial ground and as the bible puts it, he could no longer be restrained, not even with chains. He would wander day and night, howling as he moved around the burial stones cutting himself with sharp stones.(what a life)

Verse 6 says “when Jesus was still a distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him. (7) with a shriek he screamed, why are you interfering with me, Jesus , son of the most high God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me (8) For Jesus had already said to the spirit, ‘come out of the man you evil spirit’

Isn’t it a bit contradictory how, the man ran to meet Jesus but the same man, through the spirit inside him spoke and said why are you interfering with me?

I want to believe that there was a warring going on between the man and the demon he was possessed with, so when the demon must have registered Jesus as the Son of God, the man also recognized the power to protect him from the invasion of his body, so he took over the body briefly and ran to meet Jesus.

He was right.

And Jesus being the absolute ultimate protector, didn’t miss a beat, he did just that, protected his own.

Love always trusts –  trust, a very fragile thread that can easily be shattered to a million pieces if placed in the wrong person’s care. Here we look at Jesus’ prayer at Gethsemane in Matthew 26:36-56 but we shall zoom in on verse 39 which says “And going a little further he fell on his face and prayed saying ‘my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; but nevertheless, not as I will but as you will.’”

Jesus was clearly asking God if maybe somebody else could just die for the sins of God’s people, born and unborn, but he went ahead to add not my will but as you! Will. That’s God’s will. Why? Because he knows that trusting in God will never leave him bereft even if at the times, it seems like its a lot.

Now today whose name is the most powerful name in all the earth, under the earth, under the seas and in the skies? Jesus!!!.

Love always hopes –for a review, we go to the story in mark 10: 17-27, this is the story of Jesus and the young ruler who came to ask what he could do to gain eternal life, Jesus responded to him about keeping the commandments and as a law keeping man he replied that he already did all that now watch what happens next in verse 22-21 21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But at these words [a]he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.

I want to believe that Jesus already knew what was going to happen, probably through the Holy Spirit because he carried on in the next verse to say 23 And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

In fact after re-reading this, I am convinced that Jesus knew just what exactly was to happen but still Jesus hoped, I quote “21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him”

With these few points of mine, I hope I’ve been able to convince you and not confuse you that you can find love in all it expressions in Jesus (LOL)

But seriously, isn’t it a bit amazing how sometimes we don’t read our bibles the way it is meant to be read.

Till next week!! Adios Amigo.
