Flat Line Theory

flat-line

CAN YOU FEEL IT?

I think I do, I feel it too greatly, I might just be overwhelmed.

It’s easy to ask the question, does God love me? Does he know I exist?

You might have heard the famous phrase, I think God has forgotten me.

Don’t you know that you need not look so far?

You simply need to touch the left side of your chest.

Feel the strength of your own heartbeat.

Let’s show you more then, touch the base of your wrist.

Feel the solidity of your own pulse?

How can someone who is keeping you alive forget you?

God never forgets, not his creation, what’s more?

We are his own image.

So looking at us, is basically looking in the mirror for him.

Has someone been spreading lies to you about your God?

God said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Isn’t that enough to turn your frown upside down?

Has someone been telling you God won’t talk to you?

God said, He will call upon me and I will answer him.

Who is telling you that God is out of signs for you?

God said, call upon me and I will show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

Did someone tell you God is all out of the miracle business?

Don’t you know your life alone is more than a miracle?

We are in Christ , a royal priesthood, holy and sanctified to God.

How can I measure God’s love for me? I use a flat line, I haven’t got there yet.

Dear Christian

sunlight

Dear Christian aren’t you sick and tired?

Have you looked around you lately?

Dear Christian do you see what’s going wrong?

Everything looks the same and seems to be going down the drain.

Dear Christian don’t you own a Tv?

Have you watched the news lately?

Dear Christiaan have you picked up a newspaper?

Everything seems gloomy with doom.

Dear Christian weren’t you instructed to be the light?

Where is your light right now?

Dear Christian where is that shine?

Because the sun in you has taken the shoo.

Dear Christian, be the sun around you.

A HEART SONG

Lightning

Listen Up! my heart don’t you dare despair,

You must always remind yourself of the God,

Whom you serve.

He is in a calibre of his own making.

MAGNIFICENTLY INDESCRIBABLE,

That is the calibre of your God.

You will not complain heart, but

In EVERYTHING give thanks to the beautiful one,

Not sometimes, take note oh heart.

You will not lead me into depression dear heart,

Because depression cannot co-exist with

Faith in the living God.

You will give so much thanks that it will be heard from my mouth,

A witness even to the bursting dam of praise and worship.

Don’t you yet see, that God is great.

Something For You

Railway

As a new Christian, I have opened myself up to learning. Learning to pray anew, read my bible anew, soaking in God’s presence anew, and everyday…God is giving me something new. As long as I come for him.

You know, I never did understand the concept of drawing to God first so he could draw to you. I mean he’s God so it’s quite possible for him to impose his rule in my life, why does he need permission first?

Then it hit me, when you do something of your own free will in love, you do it totally and completely! Nobody needs to remind you that you said you would do a particular thing, nobody needs to motivate you to act. All you do, will be done to the very best of your abilities to make the object of your affection happy/proud.

That’s why God wants us to want him first, David got it right when he said “As the deer pants for water, so will my soul long after thee

When you want him first you would be ecstatic when the feelings are reciprocated. Humans are fickle but once in love, they will be the most steadfast.

God wants us to daily want him, to thirst, to pant for him and not just want him when we need him.

Imagine our relationship with God as with an earthly friend, this person is your go to for everything, when you are ill, that friend is there with chicken pepper soup and Lucozade boost / Ribena nursing you to health, when you are low on funds, that friend again is right there giving you much more than you requested, when you are feeling low because life can get you low sometimes, that friend is there with the right words to say to get you right back up! This friend is your cheerleader, your protection from anything, your every present help but…you only remember this friend when you need something. How long should it take before this friend cuts you off for being a parasite?

You don’t call, text, chat, buzz or whatever till you need something, yet the friend is ALWAYS there when you call. If you were that friend, how long would it take before you let go of that friendship?

But God is patient, even more patient than we are so he goes on with our selfishness, hoping that very soon, we would come to our senses and treat him the way he is meant to be treated.

With reverence, with love and total obedience because let’s face it, he does know EVERYTHING.

What are you Tuned to?

A wonderful friend of mine sent me this picture today, she suggested that it was something I could use on my blog and it definitely is.

IMG_20160627_204219

To be honest, I believe this picture says it all. we sometimes get so caught up in our lives, gadgets, problems, pleasures that we totally alienate the voice of our Shepherd.

Maybe its time we all stopped to listen.

Just Poems

PhotoGrid_1444814860111

I just felt like this in my heart, I hope someone can relate to these poems

God is great

I’m thinking God is great

I’m feeling God is great,

I’m knowing God is great

Surely God is great.

There must be other things to talk about you say

Other than the greatness of God

Other songs to sing about you say again

The angels in heaven have sang the same song

In generations past and to come.

Surely Gods greatness is big enough to span a lifetime.

Simply thinking on it make me smile

Just 1 thought generates a multitude of emotions

I’m thinking God is great,

I can see that God is great.

On to the Next

My God my great help.

My Alpha my Almighty,

Calling your name gives me peace,

Calling your name tastes like sweets,

Not just one flavour,

But a barrage of flavours all mixed in one.

It’s astonishing to say the least

How I have come to this point,

A point where I hunger for you,

And I feel that hunger in my spirit,

I never actually understood David’s psalm,

Of the deer that thirsts for water,

Now I do.

I thirst for you

I thirst for your living water,

I thirst for your living power,

I thirst for your mighty strength.

I thirst to the point oh hunger

And even as you fill me with your words

I know there’s space for more.

More of you, More of you

Jesus, More of you.

We share the Grace

                                    PhotoGrid_1444814659662

The grace of our lord Jesus Christ,

The Love of God, and

The fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Be with you all.

2nd Corinthians 13 vs 14

Firstly before we take an in depth look at these few short words, I would just like to say, the apostle Paul indeed was a man clothed with an endless flow of wisdom from the spirit of God, because in 3 sentences, he describes all any human will require to enter heaven.

  • THE GRACE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST: as Christians  today we acknowledge that we live in the era of grace, grace bought with the blood of God the son, because no earthly sacrifice could have done diddly squat to cleanse the sins past, present (then) and future (now).

So he recognizes that through Jesus, we are welcomed into grace which is paved by the way of our salvation.

Without Jesus, there would have been no salvation meaning we would not be able to come boldly before the throne of grace that we have been given an invitation to now (see Hebrews 4 vs 16)

  • THE LOVE OF GOD: now the love of God is very paramount to our Christian walk, why? Because without the love of God there would not have been room for the death of his one and only begotten son.His love for the human race is rather vast that he took the pain to be separated from his son for a full 3 hours while he hung on the cross for our sins.In his love he has kept us, protected us, guided us, given us hope, given us health, wealth, joy, love, peace and grace. His love for us guarantees us a new day’s mercy and blessing.

  • THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLYSPIRIT : to be a true believer, you need to be able to connect with God and the only way to do that is through the Holyspirit.

When Jesus was about leaving, he said “I will ask the Father to give you another Helper, to be with you always.”

This Holy spirit, is our guide into a full on relationship with God, a fellowship with the Holy spirit is first of all the embodiment of sweetness, and is the key you need to gain the seven spirits of God. A sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit is all you need to get even closer to the father and the son. A sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit is all you need to connect to the heavenly realms and operate in remarkable supernatural heights.

The Holyspirit is our personal Super-Hero

3 things Paul wrote to the Corinthians that is of great import to their walk as believers

  • The Grace of our lord Jesus Christ
  • The Love of God
  • The sweet fellowship of the Holyspirt.

Lets not make these words powerless with our non-derstanding of its power.

Lovable

david love

I once heard a song that said “ everybody wants to love, everybody wants to be loved ”

These lyrics, although circular have some truth ringing in them. Everybody does want love, as humans we have an inate desire to be loved by those around us; our families, our friends, our peers and for some of us, by Jesus, the Holy spirit and God the father.

However my question to you today is this…are you “Loveble”??

You want someone to love you without holds and without barriers but how lovable are you as a person? How lovable is your personality? Are you simply a dull cloud that dampens spirits? Are you a bitter soul? Are you an angry beaver? Always finding something to get upset about. Are you a pessimistic person who will always view the world from a disappointing point of view.

Are you a negative person who has just negativity to spread, are you the selfish person who only cares what they can get from others without a care for them, are you the gossiper? Are you the nasty one? Are you the unrepentant who finds it hard to apologize for your wrongdoings? Are you the emotionally and spiritually bankrupt? Are you the ambitionless one?

I believe it has come to the time where we each evaluate ourselves and tabulate our strengths and weaknesses and as we boost our strengths, we work tirelessly to change our weaknesses to strengths or cut them off completely.

In as much as the greatest of all instructions given to us is LOVE, we owe it to ourselves to not make our neighbours sin through our unlovable behaviour(s)

So today ask yourself, for as much as I want someone or people to love me, am I helping them love me?

Jesus’ Love pt 3

Okanlawon: Birthday Man

Welcome to another study of Jesus Love, I apologize for posting on Friday as opposed to the usual Thursday, clearly I have more work to do on my discipline.

So, lets just dive right in shall we?

Love always protects – here we examine the story of the demon possessed man in mark 1-20, the man lived in the burial ground and as the bible puts it, he could no longer be restrained, not even with chains. He would wander day and night, howling as he moved around the burial stones cutting himself with sharp stones.(what a life)

Verse 6 says “when Jesus was still a distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him. (7) with a shriek he screamed, why are you interfering with me, Jesus , son of the most high God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me (8) For Jesus had already said to the spirit, ‘come out of the man you evil spirit’

Isn’t it a bit contradictory how, the man ran to meet Jesus but the same man, through the spirit inside him spoke and said why are you interfering with me?

I want to believe that there was a warring going on between the man and the demon he was possessed with, so when the demon must have registered Jesus as the Son of God, the man also recognized the power to protect him from the invasion of his body, so he took over the body briefly and ran to meet Jesus.

He was right.

And Jesus being the absolute ultimate protector, didn’t miss a beat, he did just that, protected his own.

Love always trusts –  trust, a very fragile thread that can easily be shattered to a million pieces if placed in the wrong person’s care. Here we look at Jesus’ prayer at Gethsemane in Matthew 26:36-56 but we shall zoom in on verse 39 which says “And going a little further he fell on his face and prayed saying ‘my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; but nevertheless, not as I will but as you will.’”

Jesus was clearly asking God if maybe somebody else could just die for the sins of God’s people, born and unborn, but he went ahead to add not my will but as you! Will. That’s God’s will. Why? Because he knows that trusting in God will never leave him bereft even if at the times, it seems like its a lot.

Now today whose name is the most powerful name in all the earth, under the earth, under the seas and in the skies? Jesus!!!.

Love always hopes –for a review, we go to the story in mark 10: 17-27, this is the story of Jesus and the young ruler who came to ask what he could do to gain eternal life, Jesus responded to him about keeping the commandments and as a law keeping man he replied that he already did all that now watch what happens next in verse 22-21 21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But at these words [a]he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.

I want to believe that Jesus already knew what was going to happen, probably through the Holy Spirit because he carried on in the next verse to say 23 And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

In fact after re-reading this, I am convinced that Jesus knew just what exactly was to happen but still Jesus hoped, I quote “21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him”

With these few points of mine, I hope I’ve been able to convince you and not confuse you that you can find love in all it expressions in Jesus (LOL)

But seriously, isn’t it a bit amazing how sometimes we don’t read our bibles the way it is meant to be read.

Till next week!! Adios Amigo.

Jesus’ Love

20160503_134025Happy Birthday Onyinye.

On several occasions Jesus spoke about Love. Love for our neighbors and he demonstrated this love by spreading the good news of heaven at hand and healing, performing miracles and wonders to everyone. Jews, Samaritans, Gentiles and just everybody he could find.

Jesus was not picky with his Love, he exhibited the same love for everyone. The worthy and the unworthy.

In 1st Corinthians 13 vs 4-8 we are told that

Love is Patient, Love is kind, Love is not rude, Love is not selfish.

Love is not easily angered, Love keeps no record of wrong, Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth.

Love always protects, Love always trusts, Love always hopes, Love always perseveres.

Love never fails.

And I believe that Jesus Christ our perfect example exhibited all these attributes of love at some point or the other so…we will take it one at a time.

Love is patient – Here I use the story of Jesus turning water to wine in John 2 vs 1-11 but my emphasis is on verse 4 where he says to his mum, “Dear woman, why do you involve me? Jesus replied, my time has not yet come”

There are so many ways Jesus could have responded to his mother on this occasion but in gentility he explained at that time that his time had not yet come.

He didn’t speak with sarcasm dripping from his words. Where is the patience in your words?

Love is kind – For this illustration, I will take you to the story of the lame man by the pool of water that was stirred by angels and the first one in the pool was healed John 5 vs 1-14

Emphasis is on verse 6 “When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, Do you want to get well?

See now, Jesus could have easily walked past, and the cripple man could have been waiting for the time when he would be the first to enter the pool after it was stirred by the angel, but Jesus, having the kind compassion he did went to him and ask him if he wanted to get well.

Not everyone might deserve our kindness but it shouldn’t limit our expression of kindness through Christ.

Love is not rude – To illustrate this, I would like to take your mind back to the story of the healing of the paralytic in Luke 5 vs 17-26.

After Jesus heals him by saying “friend your sins are forgiven” (20)  the Pharisees and teachers began thinking in their hearts that who is this young man that speaks such blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone? (paraphrased slightly)

Now listen to Jesus’ reaction in verse 22 “Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, ‘why are you thinking these things in your heart?’”

If we are to look at this critically, the mere fact that Jesus knew what they were thinking in their “hearts” not out loud was reason enough for him to say something like

“ehn…Pharisee people, I can read what’s in your mind, shey that doesn’t tell you I’m God?”

TRANSLATION “ You Pharisees, I can read what’s in your mind, isn’t that enough to tell you I’m God?”

But because of his humility, he addressed them with respect because he understood they were blind even if they could physically see.

Love is not selfish – The feeding of the five thousand in Matt 14 vs 13-21 , this is a popular story that we are told in Sunday school and we even made into a song.

First when the disciples ask for the multitude to be sent away jesus replied them in vs 16 “ they do not need to go away, you give them something to eat”

He understood the physical needs as well as spirituals needs of his flock, and he wasn’t just looking after the interest of his 12 Apostles.

Then in vs 19 -20 “And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.”

Jesus could have chosen to feed only his 12 Apostles, because if you check it, i’m sure the 12 could easily share the 5 loaves of bread, then they could simply have had 6 people to 1 fish and everybody drinks water to fill up the remaining space in your tummy;but Jesus is powerful enough to do even much more then we can ask for and he was not selfish with this power.

What have you been given that you are selfish with?

as we take time to think on this, this is where today’s study will end. By Gods grace it will be continued next Thursday.
